Floris Mirror by Atbo. A reflection that illuminates.

Dec, 2025 • 2 Min. Read — General

The illuminated Floris Mirror, originally designed in 1950 by Dutch designer Floris H. Fiedeldij for Artimeta, one of the most influential mid-century design brands, returns today thanks to ATBO, which revives this icon with the delicacy and precision demanded by a true classic.

A light that defines the space.

Floris Mirror is, above all, a mirror, but when lit it reveals its dual nature. The perimeter light creates a soft halo that wraps the surface and casts a warm atmosphere onto the wall. Its presence as a decorative piece coexists with indirect illumination that does not overwhelm, but accompanies, transforming the everyday gesture of looking into a small visual ritual.

The piece preserves the geometric purity of the original design, while the light adds depth and an almost theatrical balance.

Exact proportion, balanced presence.

ATBO reinterprets the design with fidelity and contemporaneity. The metal frame maintains the sober elegance of the 1950 model, while the integrated lighting system provides uniform, stable illumination.

Its unique format, with a diameter of 80 cm, respects the original design’s proportions, offering a balanced and versatile presence that works equally well in homes and contract projects.

A piece that works alone or in pairs.

Floris Mirror is extremely adaptable. In bathrooms, it brings intimacy and visual breadth; in bedrooms, it functions above a dresser or near a wardrobe; in entrances, it becomes a welcoming gesture, always adding silent sophistication that harmonizes with the architecture.

It can be installed on its own, reinforcing its almost sculptural presence, or in pairs, creating a sober and elegant visual rhythm.

Danish tradition and timeless design.

ATBO’s work makes it clear that this is not merely a reissue, but a restoration of essence. The Danish brand preserves the tradition of proportion, material honesty, and functionality that defines Nordic aesthetics, while combining it with a contemporary sensibility focused on durability and the truth of the object. Reviving Floris Mirror is not an act of nostalgia, but a commitment to permanence: a mirror that illuminates, a design that endures, a light that belongs to the present once again.

Thanks

This website is dedicated to all those people who, in one way or another, have helped this project/dream/desire to begin and take shape.

Special thanks to my wife and my parents for supporting me, to Cristina Escarrà and Alfonso Pérez Rosales for generously sharing with me their experience as agents, to those clients who, in one way or another, have given me wise advice, to the brands that have placed their trust in me, and to Gonzalo, my godfather, who, with his always generous help, and guiding me throughout this process, is largely to blame for the fact that I can boast of being an “entrepreneur”.

Thanks also to Nuria, Rafa and Guillermo, who, to help me in the hard beginnings of any entrepreneurial activity, have opened the doors of their home, let me share with them a bit of their personal lives when I pass through their cities of residence, and give me free accommodation.

Thanks to all!
