Bell by Tom Dixon. The reflection of Its surroundings.

Sep, 2026 • 1 Min. Read — General

Bell takes the geometry of a dome as its starting point. A simple form that Tom Dixon develops by reducing the lamp to the essentials, allowing metal, light and reflection to define its character.

Introduced in 2021, the collection draws inspiration from the chrome bumpers and headlights of classic cars. Made from pressed steel, each piece is subsequently given a metallised finish that transforms the surface into a mirror, reflecting the architecture, light and movement around it.

One volume, a singular presence.

The light source remains concealed beneath the shade, producing even, glare-free illumination. Attention is therefore drawn to the volume of the piece itself and to the way its surface continuously alters the perception of the object.

Bell changes with its surroundings. Natural light, objects in the room or people moving nearby constantly alter its reflections, meaning the lamp never presents exactly the same image twice.

Table or portable.

The collection comprises the Table Light, with cable, and Bell Portable, which translates the same formal language into a cordless luminaire.

Awarded the Livingetc Style Award for Best Portable Lamp, Bell Portable takes the collection beyond the tabletop. Its cordless design makes it easy to move between different spaces, while the V2 version introduces new features that make it even more intuitive to use, including continuous dimming, two colour temperatures and an updated magnetic charging system.

Available in metallised finishes, neutral tones and more expressive colours, Bell retains the clarity of its design regardless of the version or finish chosen.

Gloss as a living surface.

Bell’s identity does not depend on colour or form alone. It is shaped by the shine of the finishing, the precision of its geometry and the relationship the piece establishes with everything happening around it.

Thanks

This website is dedicated to all those people who, in one way or another, have helped this project/dream/desire to begin and take shape.

Special thanks to my wife and my parents for supporting me, to Cristina Escarrà and Alfonso Pérez Rosales for generously sharing with me their experience as agents, to those clients who, in one way or another, have given me wise advice, to the brands that have placed their trust in me, and to Gonzalo, my godfather, who, with his always generous help, and guiding me throughout this process, is largely to blame for the fact that I can boast of being an “entrepreneur”.

Thanks also to Nuria, Rafa and Guillermo, who, to help me in the hard beginnings of any entrepreneurial activity, have opened the doors of their home, let me share with them a bit of their personal lives when I pass through their cities of residence, and give me free accommodation.

Thanks to all!
