Troels Grum-Schwensen

roels Grum-Schwensen understands design as an exercise in distance and precision. Before approaching the object, he steps back. He observes, questions and reconsiders, searching for new ways to respond to space and to those who inhabit it.

His work, primarily focused on furniture yet extending into interior architecture, exhibitions and built projects, is defined by a flexible and open perspective. Well-proportioned, often innovative pieces, where structure does not merely resolve, but communicates.

In his process, curiosity and rigor coexist. To play, to explore, to “think outside” is not a gesture, but a tool. Because for Troels, designing is not only about giving form, but about finding new ways of understanding it.
