GRID Table: an extraordinary basic
There is something deeply satisfying about a design that manages to elevate the everyday into something extraordinary. The GRID table collection from +Halle®, designed by London-based studio Industrial Facility, is just that: a celebration of functional simplicity that inaugurates the brand's new Basics line.
After two years of development, Industrial Facility and +Halle® have achieved something remarkable: a table collection that responds to the changing needs of our time. GRID is not just a table; it is a versatile system that works equally well as a work surface, dining table, side table or desk. Its true ingenuity lies in its ability to be easily assembled, lifted, reconfigured and packaged.
Sustainability meets design
One of the most innovative aspects of GRID is its approach to materials. Sturdy steel legs are combined with a selection of envelopes that includes a particularly interesting option: Kvadrat's 'Really' boards, made from discarded T-shirts. This choice represents not only an affordable option but also a commitment to the circular economy and sustainability.
The GRID collection comes in four main formats to meet different needs:
- GRID Table 01: 160 x 80 cm, perfect as a stand-alone desk
- GRID Table 02: 240 x 80 cm, ideal for meetings or shared workspaces
- GRID Table 03: 80 x 80 cm, versatile as a side table
- GRID Table 04: 160 x 160 cm, optimal for collaborative spaces
Cada modelo puede personalizarse con diferentes acabados, desde linóleo y chapa de roble hasta el innovador tablero textil de Kvadrat Really, permitiendo que cada pieza se adapte a su entorno específico.
A living system
GRID's true magic is revealed when used in multiple units. Its modular design responds intuitively to the emerging behaviors of our public spaces, allowing for playful combinations of squares and rectangles, colors and surfaces. As Sam Hecht, co-founder of Industrial Facility, points out, ”is built to evolve: you can decide to change the lid for another one. That's the beauty of the basics: they are pieces that you want to keep, but they evolve naturally with us. ".
The GRID collection represents more than just functional furniture; it is a reflection on how we live and work today, with an eye to the future. In the words of Martin Halle, CEO of +Halle®, “it is the furniture that follows us, becoming part of the pattern of our daily routines.” It is a reminder that the best design is not always the most complex, but the one that integrates so seamlessly into our lives that we barely notice its presence, until we realize we could not live without it.
