Pernille Picherit

Pernille Picherit is a visual artist whose minimalist, abstract works explore the interplay between structure and emotion. Inspired by the architecture of her native Denmark and the delicate art of Japanese origami, her series FOLDINGS delves into a poetic world of shapes, voids, and textures.
Her practice is driven by a search for balance, a harmony between visual weight and emptiness, between composition and silence. Picherit combines techniques such as monotype, linocut, drypoint, Carborundum, chine appliqué, collage, folding and embossing. This rich layering allows her to refine each piece with subtle detail, nuanced color, and emotional depth.
For Picherit, folding is more than a gesture, it's a philosophy. A way of stripping away the superfluous to reach the essential.
